Older Americans Month - 2014

Older American Month logo

The theme for Older Americans Month 2014 is Safe Today, Healthy Tomorrow. Older adults are at a much higher risk of unintentional injury and even death than the rest of the population. In fact, 756 older adults in North Carolina died in 2012 as a result of an unintentional fall and a total of 1,689 older adults died of an injury-related death. Please take time to review and implement safety measures for older adults and help ensure a Safe Today, Healthy Tomorrow!
