Senate Bill 714
Effective June 23, 2001, Session Law 2001-242 (Senate Bill 714) was signed by the Governor and became law.
It repeals Session Law 2000-135 (House Bill 1184) and amends the CON law to require a certificate of need prior to development of
any additional operating room, including endoscopy procedure rooms. The following CON rules were amended effective
July 1, 2001, to implement the changes in the CON law: 10 NCAC 3R .2113, .2114, .2115, .2116, .2118, .2119.
Senate Bill 937
Session Law 2001-234 (Senate Bill 937) was signed by the Governor and became law June 21, 2001. As a result , effective
January 1, 2002, a certificate of need will be required prior to the development of any additional adult care home beds, except beds in adult
care homes with fewer than seven beds. Rules and an application form for adult care home beds will be developed in the near future.
