Highlight: Assistive Technology

Sometimes a little technology is all you need to do things that were difficult or impossible before. DHHS has several programs that provide assistive technology to people with disabilities.

The Assistive Technology Program is a broad program for all kinds of disabilities. It can help with vision, hearing, speech, vehicle modification, and daily living. For someone adjusting to vision loss, we can provide training in daily activities along with some technology to help you and your family in making this adjustment. Our Regional Centers for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing can help you find the technology that is right for you, whether it is telephone and internet communication, speech assistance, and computer assisted notetaking.
