The Director's Office is responsible for the overall administration of the Division. The Director is supervised by and is responsible to the Assistant Secretary for Health Policy. In addition to supervising the senior management team, the Director also supervises the Assistant Director for:

• Director's Office Administrative Staff
• Human Resources
• Information Technology and HIPAA
• Replacement MMIS Project Manager

The Chief Business Operations Officer leads the Assistant Directors for

• Finance Management
• Budget Management
• Strategic Planning, Assessment and Research Team (SPART) team
• Regulatory Affairs (State Plan and NC Administrative Code).

The Chief Clinical Operations Officer leads the Assistant Directors for:

• Clinical Policy
• Program Integrity
• Recipient and Provider Services

The Chief Medical Officer provides leadership for the Medical Director, Dental Director, and the Chief for Quality Evaluation and Health Outcomes Unit. The Chief Medical Officer also leads the Assistant Directors for Managed Care (CCNC).

This office administers the State Plan and North Carolina Administrative Code for the Division of Medical Assistance.

This office is also responsible for overseeing the agency's rule-making functions through changes to the North Carolin Administrative Code. This unit serves as the liaison between the agency, other agencies, units of local government and the public in the rule-making process. Rules are adopted in compliance with G.S. 150B.
