An Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) is an institution, or distinct part thereof, that:

  1. Functions primarily for the diagnosis, treatment or rehabilitation an individuals with intellectual disabilities or with a related condition.
  2. Provides, in a protected residential setting, ongoing evaluation, planning, 24-hour supervision, coordination, and integration of health or rehabilitative services to help each individual function at his or her greatest ability.
