Who Are We?
The Division of Services for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing (DSDHH) is in the vital position of providing the resources and linkages to programs all across the state to people with hearing loss. This is how the Division fulfills its mission of enabling equal access, effective communication and a better quality of life for the state's one million Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind individuals. Supporting this mission are DSDHH's specially-trained staff, many of whom are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or Deaf-Blind, located at Regional Centers throughout the state. Thanks to their specialized and critical support, many North Carolinians with hearing loss are leading self-sufficient, productive and fulfilling lives.
