For Agencies and Businesses

How to Make Your Services Accessible

“I have a Deaf patient and want to make sure I can understand him when he describes to me his medical problem. How do I get an interpreter?”

“I have several Hard of Hearing people planning to attend a conference at my hotel. How do I make sure they can hear the speakers clearly? How will they know if a fire breaks out?”

Agencies and businesses seek to make their services accessible to Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind people but often are unsure of what to do. The Division has staff specially-trained to provide a variety of services at no charge to assist agencies and businesses in ensuring people with hearing loss could benefit from their services and business. Assistance includes individualized consultation, workshops and training. Below are detailed descriptions of the types of assistance and resources available. To learn more or for assistance, contact one of the seven Regional Centers.
