With the N.C. Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services and the N.C. Division of Services for the Blind, the council develops the State Plan for Independent Living. The council then monitors and evaluates the implementation of the plan and oordinates activities with the State Rehabilitation Council. Each one of the two divisions is represented on the council by non-voting ex officio members.
