Life at WorkSource East

With the consumer as our first Magnolia Place priority, Worksource East promotes independence and employment by providing quality services, guidance, and training in an integrated setting while maintaining a safe and healthy environment. We build partnerships that encourage exceptional performance, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Support Services: Case managers and transition coordinators help consumers achieve their goals by providing counseling on job-related concerns. Consumers work closely with their case managers to develop personalized training plans which focus on work needs and transitioning back to the community. Support services staff also help obtain medical and other services required during training.

Internships: Internships are a great way for consumers to gain valuable hands-on experience in the community prior to graduating and entering the workforce.

Residential Services: Based on need and other factors, some consumers may be eligible to live at Magnolia Place, a 40-bed residential facility primarily for consumers from outside the local area. Residence there is designed to promote independent living, community awareness and interpersonal skills through group interaction and leisure activities. Address: Magnolia Place, 1401 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530. Telephone (919)734-9039.

Consumer Government Association: All of our consumers belong to the CGA which meets the first Friday of each month at 9 a.m. The CGA’s purpose is to develop and maintain a support program for consumers while encouraging leadership skills. The CGA has input on facility issues and policies. Guest speakers provide valuable information at each meeting.

Graduation is held each June and December. Consumers who complete a program at any time during the year may return for the celebration, joined by family and friends.
