SHIFT DIFF EXPLANATION
1.) With the new system (BEACON) there is no
longer a 15% or 30% shift differential rate that
shows on the check stub.
***Example: If you are an employee that normally
gets 20% for weekdays & 30% for weekends,
your 20% shift diff is calculated for all hours
released. If any of those hours were weekend hours,
an additional 10% is added. (If you work Wednesday
thru Sunday and your off days are Monday and Tuesday,
you will be paid your weekday shift diff for the
entire week. You will be paid an additional percentage
for the 16 weekend hours.)
Please note that shift differential is only paid
on hours released by the supervisor/time administrator.
If time has not been entered, approved, etc, released
shift differential cannot be paid. Payroll normally
cuts off on or around the 20th of each month.
Please refer to the payroll calendar for exact
cutoff dates for each month.
