Course Description
This two-day course provides an overview for staff who may respond to individual requests or may make presentations to small groups of employees such as in orientation or in reviewing benefit products. The course addresses training effectiveness, activities, visual aids, preparation, and presentation. Focus is placed on the individual identifying and developing his or her most effective training style. Participants in this course have opportunities to make various types of presentations from simple introductions to using visual aids.
Goal
To provide participants with the tools and practice necessary to increase their effectiveness, confidence, and comfort level when making presentations.
Objectives
By the end of this session, participants should be able to:
- Provide an opportunity to gain confidence in presenting information
- Develop a list of characteristics of good presenters
- Discuss tools and techniques for making presentations
- Make a presentation using a number of the methods discussed in class for enhancing presentation effectiveness
