Who can attend these courses?

The courses listed to the right are open to DHHS employees. Some classes are designed specifically for Supervisors, Managers, or Training Coordinators. If the intended audience is not clear from the course title, click the course name for more information. Click here to view the 2009 Training Calendar.

What about cost?

The courses are free or have a minimal charge (generally from $5.00 to $15.00 per person).

How do I look for a particular class?

You may browse through the subject groupings and click on the course name to see the course description and dates offered. Or go directly to the 2009 calendar to browse through the current schedule.

We will continue to add classes here and send out e-mail notices and flyers announcing newly scheduled classes.

How do I register for a class?

In general, employees should ask their supervisors about signing up for classes. Supervisors should then contact their Training Coordinators to handle the registration. (See Training Coordinator List for a full list of division, facility, and school coordinators.)

Who teaches these classes and where are they held?

Generally, staff from the Employee and Management Development section in Raleigh teach the courses. In some instances, individuals are contractors that were former DHHS trainers. Click the course name below to access the description listing the specific instructors for each class.

Most of the classes are held in Raleigh on the Dorothea Dix campus. See the 2009 calendar for specific location information. Click here for a map of the Dorothea Dix campus (Adobe PDF).
