The Mental Health Advisory Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is appointed by the Director of the North Carolina Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services. The duties of the Council are to advise the Division of MH/DD/SAS on the development and implementation of the long-range plan.

Sign language interpreters and Assistive Listening Devices are provided for Council meetings by MHDDSAS.
