NC Department of Health and Human Services Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services

CDW (Consumer Data Warehouse) Reports

Trends in LME Admissions and Persons Served

These reports provide an overview of persons admitted to and receiving services through LMEs over a five-year period by primary disability.

Consumer Perceptions of Care

The Consumer Perceptions of Care reports provide information on the quality of care in each LME’s catchment area over a five year period, based on the perceptions of individuals and families who have received mental health and/or substance abuse services. The Division and LMEs gather this information annually through the Consumer Perception of Care Survey. Adults ages 18 and over, youth ages 12-17, and parents of children under 12 years of age complete the confidential surveys, in English or Spanish, at their provider agencies during a two-week period each year.

The Division reports statewide results from the survey to the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) each year as part of the Mental Health Block Grant. The results of NC’s Consumer Survey are compared to national averages in the Uniform Reporting System (URS) tables at SAMHSA’s website.

SAMHSA’S website contains Mental Health and Substance Abuse data for all states.
