Horton is president-elect of national survey association
Jeff Horton is president-elect of the Association of Health Facility
Survey Agencies, a national organization that advocates health care
quality standards to assure the highest practicable quality of health
care for all state and federally regulated health care providers.
Horton, chief of the Licensure and Certification Section of the
Division of Facility Services, was chosen president-elect at the
organization’s 2005 annual conference last month in Albuquerque,
N.M. During the previous year he served as the organization’s recording
secretary.
He has worked in the Division of Facility Services since 1993 with
assignments that include long-term care surveyor and manager of programs
that oversee nursing facilities, hospitals, home care/home health,
hospice, ambulatory surgery, dialysis and mental health facilities.
AHFSA is a not-for-profit organization that provides a forum for
health care regulatory agency directors and managers to address common
interests, concerns, and health care program issues. AHFSA participates
with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through its
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, providers, and advocacy
groups in planning, implementing and assessing the quality and effectiveness
of health care programs. The state licensing and certification agencies
in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico are members
of the association.
