Construction is well underway at the site of the new Central Region
Psychiatric Hospital currently being built in Butner. DHHS Property
and Construction Director Terry Hatcher reports that as of today,
the site has been cleared and workers are pouring footings for the
foundation. Hatcher says one benefit of the recent weather is that
it keeps the ground dry, allowing the contractors to avoid any weather-related
delays. The hospital is scheduled to be completed by the summer of
