High Appointed to Serve as Mentor
Esther High has been asked to serve as one of the mentors in the
newly established Minority Adoption Leadership Development Institute
(MALDI) Program for the National Child Welfare Resource Center for
Adoption (NCWRCA), a service of the Children’s Bureau\ACF\DHHS. The
goal of the program is to increase the representation of culturally,
ethnically, and racially diverse individuals in leadership positions
in public child welfare programs across the nation. The role of mentors
will be to improve participants’ knowledge and leadership skills
to prepare them to become future leaders within states.
“This appointment is such an honor for Esther, and for the department
as well. DHHS is fortunate to have such nationally recognized staff,”
said Jo Ann Lamm, chief, NC Family Support and Child Welfare Services.
