DHHS upholds award of MMIS contract to CSC

RALEIGH — Today the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services issued its decision regarding Electronic Data Systems’ (EDS) protest meeting and notified EDS that the Department was upholding the award of the Replacement Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) Contract to Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). 

On Jan. 6, 2009, EDS requested a meeting with the Department to protest the Dec. 22, 2008, award of the MMIS contract to CSC. The protest meeting was held on Feb. 12, 2009. 

When asked about the decision, Angie Sligh, Director of the Office of MMIS Services, stated, “The CSC proposal offered the best value to the taxpayers.” 

The total bid price of the CSC proposal was $265,204,474, which was $22.1 million less than the EDS proposal.
