DHHS leadership hits 100 percent participation in campaign

Raleigh, N.C. - Secretary Aldona Wos announced today that for the first time since the State Employees Combined Campaign began in 1985, the leadership team of the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services has achieved 100 percent participation.

"It's important for those of us who are fortunate to share our blessings with those who need our help," Secretary Wos said. "What better way to share with those in need than through the Combined Campaign? I am proud that all our division directors have stepped up in support of their favorite charitable organizations."

Since 1985, the Combined Campaign has raised more than $91 million in gifts from state employees. The SECC is the only fundraising campaign authorized to solicit charitable contributions in the state employee workplace. The SECC is led by state employees for state employees. More than 1,000 nonprofits are eligible for donations this year.

The principal aim of the Combined Campaign is to strengthen and sustain North Carolina communities and their citizens. The campaign assures state employees and retirees continuous opportunity to support charitable organizations that are accountable, fiscally sound, and committed to improving the quality of life in our state, nation and the world.
