Janssen White
Janssen White is the Assistant Secretary for Government Affairs at DHHS. In this role, she leads legislative strategy in pursuit of DDHS’ mission to improve the health, safety and well-being of all North Carolinians, and represents the Department in business before the North Carolina General Assembly, other state agencies, and external partners. Recently, Janssen led the Department’s legislative efforts in obtaining critical funding and policy flexibilities to support DHHS’ response to Hurricane Helene. Janssen previously served for 4 years in the Office of US Congressman David E. Price, most recently as Legislative Assistant, acting as the principal policy advisor to the Senior Appropriator on Healthcare, Education, Veterans Affairs, Financial Services, Tax Policy, and Financial Services. Prior to her time with Congressman Price, Janssen served in the Office of the Chancellor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she supported the implementation of the Chancellor’s strategic plan, including the University’s Capital Campaign, and the College of Arts of Sciences curriculum redesign.
Janssen holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Janssen is a two-time Past President of the North Carolina Democratic Club of Washington, D.C.
