Find treatment and support

Everyone needs help sometimes. This page will connect you to resources and organizations that can provide support or care.

Coverage with Medicaid

NC Medicaid now covers more people ages 19 through 64 years. You may be able to get health care coverage through Medicaid, even if you did not qualify before. NC Medicaid pays for doctor visits, yearly check-ups, emergency care, dental care, mental health and more.

Plus, NC Medicaid now offers “Tailored Plans.” These are for people who need extra help with mental health, substance use, traumatic brain injuries or intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Find your county's LME/MCO

Each county has an organization that arranges services related to mental health, substance use, traumatic brain injury or intellectual and developmental disabilities.

These groups are called Local Management Entity/Managed Care Organizations, or LME/MCOs. They serve people with Medicaid Tailored Plans (and certain other kinds of Medicaid), people without insurance, and people whose insurance doesn’t cover everything they need.
