Jan. 30, 2018 — DHHS employees increased their giving for the 2017 State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC) donation drive, with donations exceeding 2016 totals by more than 10 percent.
“Thank you so much to everyone who donated and helped make the 2017 campaign a great success,” said DHHS SECC Campaign Co-Chair Maribeth Wooten.
“Seeing this level of support and generosity is outstanding and truly appreciated.”
Fellow Co-Chair Michael Becketts echoed Wooten’s sentiments. “It is truly inspiring, to work with a group of people who have demonstrated such great concern for their fellow citizens,” he said. “Thank you to everyone for their time and generosity during the 2017 SECC campaign.”
DHHS finished the 2017 campaign at 112 percent of the 2016 donation level, with DHHS staff members giving a total of $304,302 to the SECC. The number of DHHS donors increased by 4.5 percent, with 2,073 DHHS employees statewide contributing to the campaign.
Donations will contribute to sustaining public health, educational, environmental and social service organizations, with a direct impact in local communities across the state. More than 900 nonprofits were eligible for donations through the campaign.
The donations allow employees to contribute to a cause that is important to them, while also being part of a larger charitable effort.
