Child Placing Agency Licensing

Adoption

Effective Sept. 1, 2011 child-placing agencies for adoption have to be accredited for three years from either the Council on Accreditation (COA), the Joint Commission, formerly known as the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (TJC), the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), or the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) before they can be licensed. Please attach your accreditation letter from one of these four organizations, verifying your accreditation and the date you were accredited.

Foster Care 

Effective Sept. 1, 2011 child-placing agencies for foster care have to be accredited for three years from either the Council on Accreditation (COA), the Joint Commission, formerly known as the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (TJC), the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) before they can be licensed. Please attach your accreditation letter from one of these four organizations verifying your accreditation and the date you were accredited. Applicants interested in providing therapeutic foster care services must provide a letter of intent from a Managed Care Organization (MCO) stating that they need more therapeutic foster care services in their catchment area and are interested in working with you as a provider.
