The Atlantic hurricane season typically lasts from June 1 through November 30. During this time tropical depressions, tropical storms and hurricanes can bring heavy rain, strong winds, powerful storm surges and flooding to the state. Being prepared for storms and other catastrophic emergencies can save lives.
