Down Syndrome - Resources
North Carolina provides services to people with Down syndrome and other disabilities in a variety of ways. There are also many community resources, advocacy groups, support groups and associations.
To explore services available to you, contact your Local Management Entity/Managed Care Organization (or “LME”). LMEs are companies that help provide services for the state, including Medicaid and State-Funded services. They can explain available services and how to access them.
Find the Tailored Plan for the county that administers your NC Medicaid using this directory. Or, call the NC Medicaid Enrollment Broker at 1-833-870-5500 (TTY: 711 or RelayNC.com).
Tailored Plans: Behavioral Health and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Tailored Plans (or “Tailored Plans”) are a NC Medicaid Managed Care health plan for people with certain health needs, including people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. They start July 1, 2024. Learn more about Tailored Plans.
