Pride Events and Resources

Pride Month is celebrated nationwide each year in June, but events to celebrate Pride happen through October. This month was chosen to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising which began at the Stone Wall Inn in New York on June 28, 1969. The LGBTQ+ community and allies protested for six days to fight for LGBTQ+ rights, and the right to live openly without fear of arrest.

NCDHHS joins the nation in celebrating our LGBTQ+ community. As we prepare for Pride month and Pride celebrations through the fall, we want to remind Pride event organizers and attendees of available health resources to celebrate safely and protect their sexual health.
