Area Agencies on Aging
An area agency on aging (AAA) is a public or private non-profit agency designated by the North Carolina General Assembly to administer the Older Americans Act at the regional level per the 1973 amendment to the Older Americans Act. AAA offices facilitate and support programs addressing the needs of older adults in a defined geographic region and support investment in their talents and interests. AAAs are located throughout NC within regional Councils of Government.
