Designation 2025

The Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO), will begin accepting applications from organizations that can demonstrate the capacity to provide comprehensive services consistent with the requirements of the Community Services Block Grant Act for Chatham, Durham, Orange and Randolph counties.

Below, you will find key information and deadlines related to the process of designation. 

Information Sessions

OEO will host three virtual information sessions about the designation process in April. If you plan to attend an info session, you must register by 5 p.m. on April 1 by sending an email to Shi’Asia.Maynor@dhhs.nc.gov 

  • Wed., April 2 at 10 a.m. EST – Virtual event (hosted on Zoom)
  • Tuesday, April 8 at 10 a.m. EST – Virtual event (hosted on Zoom)
  • Tuesday, April 10 at 10 a.m. EST – Virtual event (hosted on Zoom)

Intent to Apply

If your organization intends to apply, you must email Shi’Asia.Maynor@dhhs.nc.gov by 5 p.m. on April 25. 

Designation Application

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on May 16, 2025.  OEO must receive the application on or before the deadline. Download the 2025 Designation Application, along with instructions for completing the application
