HCBS Listening and Sharing Sessions
In 2014, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) made a new rule about community services. The rule is for all Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waivers — NC’s Innovations Waiver, CAP/DA, CAP/C and CAP/Choice. The new HCBS Community Rule will make sure that waiver services support people to be a full part of the community—just like everyone else.
Since 2014, NC DHHS continues to collaborate with beneficiaries, Stakeholders, LME-MCOs, and other state partners to meet the requirements of the HCBS Final Rule and ensure person-centered planning and individual choice lead our service delivery system.
We need you to continue to:
- Talk with us and provide valued feedback about the proposed HCBS Transition Plan to help those receiving these services become a full part of their community.
- Tell us what is working and what needs to change.
- Implementing person-centered planning practices
- Help build on our system’s strengths to meet requirements of the HCBS Final Rule (March 17, 2014).
