Each year, EIPD helps thousands of people overcome disability-related barriers and achieve their goals for competitive employment and more independent living in their communities. In collaboration with each client, we help assess skills, interests and abilities then choose a goal for competitive employment or independence. Based on each client’s needs, we create a customized plan of services and supports to help them achieve their goals. We deliver services statewide through our network of more than 70 local offices covering all 100 counties in North Carolina.

Positions We Recruit For

Rehabilitation Counselor
The work of a Rehabilitation Counselor can be life-changing for North Carolinians with disabilities. You’ll partner with a team of dedicated and passionate public servants who are focused on the mission and work side-by-side with clients to overcome disability-related barriers and achieve their goals for competitive employment and more independent living. You will build supportive counseling relationships, advocate for clients’ needs, monitor their progress towards their goals, and connect them with the necessary tools for success. You’ll also conduct outreach to build community partnerships and increase referrals to the agency.

Business Relations Representative
Business Relations Representatives, known as BRRs, are employment specialists who are skilled in identifying opportunities and making great matches between employers and jobseekers. As a BRR, you’ll engage clients to help them improve work skills and soft skills, submit job applications, prepare for interviews, participate in work-learning opportunities and successfully achieve their employment goals. You’ll collaborate with rehabilitation counselors to align clients’ employment goals and with labor market demand. You’ll promote EIPD’s no-cost services for employers in your community, which include training and technical assistance, workforce assessments, financial incentives, and support for recruitment, hiring and onboarding of qualified candidates with disabilities. You’ll also represent the agency at community events, job fairs and other outreach opportunities.

Rehabilitation Casework Technician
Rehabilitation Casework Technicians – known as casework techs – have extensive knowledge about local businesses, employment opportunities and community resources. Casework techs are also skilled at communicating with people from diverse backgrounds. As casework tech, your primary responsibility is to provide casework support to counselors. You’ll participate in client interviews, gathering diagnostic data to help determine eligibility and required services. You’ll help develop an individualized plan in collaboration with the client and counselor, and monitor the client’s progress towards their goal, documenting service delivery and case progress throughout the rehabilitation process.

Administrative Specialist
Administrative Specialists are crucial members of the team and can have a wide range of responsibilities, including responding to phone and email inquiries, handling confidential information, and providing professional customer service to clients and visitors. You’ll also be responsible for organizing information, writing and proofreading communications, entering data and running reports, and providing administrative support for other staff.
