Services
- Services for people with Medicaid.
- Innovations Medicaid Programs and Services. Innovations services include community living and supports, respite care, supported employment, residential supports and more.
- 1915(i) Medicaid Services. Services include community living and support, supported employment, and respite care.
• Services for people who do not have Medicaid. State-funded services may be available, including residential support, day support, community living and support, supportive employment, respite and more. For more information about what services are available in your area, contact your LME/MCO.
Housing
NCDHHS has hired an I/DD Housing Consultant to develop and expand housing resources for the I/DD community. The department is developing a Strategic Housing Plan to create a supportive framework for individuals with all disabilities through various housing options to meet diverse needs. For information on current housing options available in your area, contact your LME/MCO.
What do I need to know?
- You MUST have established residency in NC.
- Documentation regarding, I/DD or TBI diagnosis is REQUIRED (i.e., psychological).
- Individuals diagnosed with a brain injury by the age of 21 may be eligible for I/DD services.
- NC has a Registry of Unmet Needs for the Innovations Waiver.
Who do I contact?
- For information about I/DD services available in your area, contact your respective LME-MCO.
- For Disability Benefits, find and contact your county’s Social Security Administration and/or Apply for Disability Benefits through SSA online.
- For other benefits (NC Medicaid, assistance programs, etc.) find and contact your county’s Department of Social Services or apply online.
